Hardware Compatibility List

This document contains the hardware requirements for DNS Manager. Hardware requirements are strongly related to the expected load. MySQL server and PHP front-end interface are the most intensive components on a DNS Manager server.

DNS Manager is certified to run on Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 (RHEL8) and compatible distributions (AlmaLinux 8, Rocky Linux 8).

Hardware Requirements

We recommend quality server hardware with redundant storage system. Here are the system requirements:

Virtualization

DNS Manager is designed to be used in virtualized environments. DNS Manager was tested with the following hypervisors:

  • VMware vSphere / ESXi
  • KVM / QEMU
  • OpenStack

In case of virtualization, we recommend:

  • Do not over-provision RAM and CPU
  • Use paravirtualized drivers for best performance
