In this page, you will learn how to add and manage the custom buttons displayed in the DNS Manager interface.

Overview

In order to manage the custom buttons, go to the Server settings page and click the Custom buttons icon. In the page that opens, you will be able to add new buttons, edit and delete them.

The Custom buttons list displays the following details: 

  • S: Refers to the status of the button; it can be enabled or disabled;
  • A: Describes the availability of the button;
  • L: Refers to the location of the button, which can be displayed in the left or the right panel; 
  • I: Is the icon associated with the button;

    If the button is associated with the default icon, 4PSA DNS Manager displays

  • Label: Refers to the label displayed below the button;
  • URL: Refers to the URL which will open in a pop-up window when you click the button;
  • Priority: Defines the order in which the custom buttons are displayed in the interface.

You can sort this information by label, URL, and context help if you click the table header links.

Adding custom buttons

To add a new button, click the Add custom button icon in the Tools area. In the new page that opens, the following fields will be displayed:

  • Label: Refers to the label displayed below the button;
  • Title: Is the tip displayed when on mouse-over;
  • Location: Use this drop-down list to choose where the button will be displayed;
  • Default image: If you select this checkbox, DNS Manager will display a default icon for the button. If you disable this checkbox, DNS Manager will display an additional control that will allow you to load custom icon for the button. For Skin image use the Browse button to locate a graphic file on your computer.
  • Client ID: When this option is enabled, the ID of the currently selected client is appended to the URL linked with the button;

e.g. http://www.4psa.com/interface.php?client=<cl_id>

  • URL: This is the URL that will open in a pop-up window as soon as you click the button;
  • Context help: This is the button description that will be displayed in the context help area on mouse-over;
  • Priority: Defines the order in which the custom buttons are displayed in the interface;
  • Inheritance level: Use this drop- down list to specify the visibility of the button:

0: The button is visible only to the client user.

1: The button is visible to multiple users.

  • Action: Use this drop-down list to set the URL to open in the Current window or in a New window.

Click OK to update the button's details. Click Cancel, if you want to return to the previous page without saving the button.

Editing custom buttons

If you want to edit existing buttons, click the button label link. You can modify the button details taking into account the explanations above. Click OK to update the button's details. Click Cancel if you want to return to the previous page without saving the changes.

Removing custom buttons

To remove a custom button, select its corresponding checkbox and click the Remove selected link. DNS Manager will ask for your confirmation before the buttons will be permanently deleted. You can delete several buttons at the same time.
