For DNS Manager to work, you need a license key, which is generated by 4PSA based on the server IP.

The table below details the options displayed in the License Management page.

License key status

These options detail the status of the uploaded license key.

  • Your server IP is the main IP address of your server. You need a license key issued for this IP, otherwise it will not work.
  • License key status refers to the status of the currently loaded license key.

Upload license key

License file lets you upload the license key to the server.

If you can access other pages in DNS Manager, this means that your license is valid and you do not have to upload a new one.

License by Activation Code

This option allows you to use an activation code instead of uploading a license key.

  • Activation code: Fill in the activation code that will be used to extend the license.

Get License Key from the Licensing Server

Use the form to query the licensing server. This function can only be used when a license key is loaded on the server and it's not expired. The first time you install the product, it is required to upload the license key or use an activation code.

The Last licensing server answer field refers to the answer received on the last query from the license server. Click the Get license button to obtain a new answer from the license server.

License key properties

  • License key number is the number of your license key.
  • License key ownership refers to the type of license you own.
  • License key issued for IP refers to the IP the key was issued for.
  • Maximum number of zones is the maximum number of allowed zones.
  • License key expires on refers to the date and time your license key expires.
  • License key renewed on date when key was last time renewed.

The Owned and Leased licenses automatically renew before the License expire date.
