Phone Terminal Extension Features

Do Not Disturb

This page details how you can manage the DND function over the phone.

Overview

When the Do Not Disturb option is activated, the extension cannot be contacted and the phone will not ring. A custom sound file, previously selected in the VoipNow web interface, may be played to the caller.

Set up Do Not Disturb

In the VoipNow Interface, follow the steps below:

  1. Select the extension for which you want to configure this option and click the Phone Terminal Setup icon in the Tools area.
  2. In the Setup Phone Terminal <extension_label> page, scroll down to the Calling Features section.
  3. Select the Do not disturb function active checkbox to enable the DND feature.
  4. Access the Play sound <file_name> when DND is activated option and select a sound.

This sound will be played to the callers trying to contact the extension while the Do not disturb function is enabled. Click the icon to view the available sound files or manually fill in the file location. A pop-up window listing all the sounds matching the name specified in the text box is displayed. For more information, read this area of the VoipNow User Guide.
